BeReadyBe Ready is an application which helps the user with the mental transition to start and focus on work faster. The user-friendly UI facilitates the user to set up working schedules on a daily basis and stick to it while avoiding any kind of distractions coming from mobile devices. Be Ready allows the user to select the working days in a week and set the customised working time schedule by indicating start and end of working timeframe. "Be Ready" also enables the user to mute those applications on mobile device from where the user expects to receive notifications that might be disrupting for their concentration. |
Each day, 10-15 minutes before starting to work, Be Ready notifications remind the user to set up the plan as bullet points for that day. The plan might be as detailed as the user wishes. This process will be mentally interpreted for the user as a trigger to get themselves ready for working. Once the plan is finished, the user may switch directly to working. 10-15 minutes before the working timeframe reaches its end, Be Ready notification will pop up once again that will allow the user to review the plan and cross out the already resolved bullet points. The next working day routine might kick off the same way, but this time the user will be able to review the resolved and non-resolved issues from the previous day and incorporate the non-resolved ones to the new working plan. |
We came up with the idea to create Be Ready after conducting a research to gain insights about people's working styles in a confined environment during pandemic and their necessities and desires. Our group has faced a question "How might we assist people with the mental transition to start working?" which allowed us to narrow down our research area and interview people. It was revealed that the majority of the interviewees always set up a schedule before starting to work. Having analysed the data from the secondary research "How to trick your brain to like doing hard things" by James Clear, our team found a great way to help people switch faster from "leisure mode" to "work mode" by creating Keystone Habits. We decided to use this opportunity and create a digital solution in order to help people create and sustain such habits that will increase their productivity.
